    hi all i just wish to know what to do with this avacardo plant , i pushed a seed into a pot early summer and have now got a plant about 18 inch high and growing, how big will this grow , and ANY advice please bob

    Hi Bob, I shall be very interested in replies to this question, as I have never managed to get beyond the critical stage you're at now! Most of the info. about growing says pinch off the top about 8" from bottom in order to make it branch... when I've done this either another shoot comes up from the base and grows as leggy as the first, and the first dies, or it simply dies. If I don't pinch them out they grow taller and lose leaves on the stem, leaving just the bare stem and new leaves- not very attractive. However as yours is growing strongly it's worth a try to get a bushy plant.
    In warmer climates it will produce a large [6'+] bush, so if yours continues it may get quite a size.

    Same as Liz, Bob, dont think they like to branch when young, but you can try.
    Haven't grown one for a while, but as I remember they have long roots as well, I dont think I ever had one that could really be classed as an ornamental, more a conversation piece. :D
