Does anyone have an avocado Houseplant? I liked the idea of having a nice foliage plant so I've got a stone on the go just producing a root so far but I wondered of anyone else had done this in the past and still got one going strong?

started one once in my early 30's had for a year or two, then chucked it. really not worth it. Too many prettier plants out there to fuss with for the home.

I also grew a couple back in godknowswhen.

Kind of tall leggy plant that tends to drop leaves when grown as a house plant.

Might do better if greenhouse grown, or in a conservatory, but like redstar says, apart from the novelty value, there are much better foliage plants available.

      Hi IceColdRum,

Have a look on the " Other plants " section. You'll find a thread by me called " Haven't shown any houseplants yet so here goes... ".
There's a photo of one on there that I've grown. I like them because they do make an unusual houseplant. The leaves have a reddish metallic sheen to them.

        Hi Redstar,

That's not mine though. That's why I put the title up, cuz mine has got my photos on it.

Yep, @Anthony Rogers , that is why I said "there also is" so @IceColdRum could see other house plants also. Some are mine. and its a longer thread.
