    Hi all,

Being a beginner i made a BIG mistake of potting a rhododendron(japanse azalea) in the wrong compost. After a week in ericaceous compost(the right 1) it looks abit worse for wear :(

Although the leaves look green and nice ,will the flowers come back .I even thought it may need dead heading or is this a really really stupid question Doh!
Any ideas to bring it up to scratch ?
Hopefully my pics will appear below ,fingers crossed lol

It looks like you won't have a problem, Tam - as the leaves are fine, I'd say the plant is just finishing flowering, and the flowers are dying off in the usual way. It may have happened faster because of the mistake, but you'd lose the flowers anyway, and get more next year.

Dead-heading is a perfectly sensible thing to do!! But you're not likely to get another flush of blooms, azaleas don't generally oblige!

Hi, mowgley. I have used tea leaves / black tea left in the pot (Earl Grey no less) on my Azaleas / Rhododendruns, roses as well, with no problems.
