All remaining garden related items are reduced in B&M to clear, some by as much as 75%, including multi purpose compost reduced to £1.99 from £4.99 :)

Can I assume that every b and m will be doing this?

I would assume so, I've been to Northwich, Long Eaton, Ilkeston and Beeston stores and they all have reductions :)

Most probably, but I've only been posting the really high end B&M reductions. Reduced stock can be variable, so don't make a special visit, but worth checking out if nearby.

Having said that some of their foodstuffs are a real bargain, big tins of peas (820g)for 10p, Bolognese sauce 770g for 39p, and double packs of chopped toms @ 6 cartons for 50p (label says 29p for double pack, but they scan at 3 double packs for 50p) are a bit of a bargain @ B&M at the moment.

P.S. They also have giant Ja-ru whoopee cushions for only £2.99!

1Kg Miracle Gro granules now £2, 1Kg JAB Growmore & Bonemeal now down to 50p/pkt. I've just cleared both Milton Keynes stores out of the JAB pkts, but want the Miracle Gro to get reduced further. Plus lots of hardware bits and pieces (pkts screws, keyhole brackets, etc.) for 10p, tubs of putty for 10p, cartridges of Unibond clear sealant (good for around internal perimeter of glazing to hold in place/seal), (wall) tile saws 50p, big bags (like 2 or 3 Kg) of grout powder 50p, ceramic coffee and tea storage jars 10p each, sets of 4 ceramic egg cups 10p, pots of baking powder 10p, 1.80m high metal chimneas that were £69, now £34.99 and lots more. 1.5Kg of Typhoo leaf tea for £1 was also bit of a bargain.

Thanks Scrungee. My store had different offers and most of the stuff had gone before I got there, but I did get lots of packs of Miracle Gro granules for £1 each and some other odds and ends.

They are still £2 each at all the B&M stores near me.

Copper anti-slug tape is now 50p for a 2m pack.

Also got loads of Crucials Chilli & Garlic sauce 500ml (RRP £1.49), Jamie Oliver Pepper, Chilli & Ginger Salt grinders (£3 at Sainsburys), Bonners Sweet Chilli Dips 280g and Jamie Oliver Hot Chilli spice grinders (normally £3.89) all at only 10p each.

Yes, I got a load of that copper tape to keep the slugs off my salad troughs. I think it was only 89p originally (69p in Home Bargains), but given how keen the little so-and-sos are to devour my seedlings, definately worth it.

My most recent non-gardening bargain from them is quince paste at 39p a jar. Those spice grinders are fab. I got a Himalayan pink salt one a while ago to put in a posh hamper and use them as physio tools to exercise my plantar fasciitus (foot injury).

Good idea! We do Xmas hampers with some bargain stuff bought really cheap, home made/grown things (including homebrew & preserves) also free stuff from the Body Shop using vouchers for the Telegraph and I get given bags full of cheaply bought gardening stuff by wife & daughter for both Xmas & birthdays.

I've mentioned the food bargains here together with the gardening items to demonstrate that B&M's a really worthwhile place to call and checkout the entire store.

I bought the last 6 reels of copper tape in the Leicester branch. If it doesn't work on the slugs I can play with it in the pottery workshop.

It worked a treat on my newly pricked out lettuce seedlings last night. I put the troughs down on the ground next to slug central and the seedlings are still all there today. :hapfeet:

              This is the B&M thread?

Twin packs of ant bait stations reduced to £1.49 @ B&M. The same ones are £3.50 at Wilkos and £4.99 at Homebase http://www.wilko.com/pest-control/home-defence-antstop-bait-station-10g-x-2/invt/0199763 http://www.homebase.co.uk/en/homeba...6|rnd:4604143765676079852|dvc:c|adp:1o8|bku:1

And a couple of non-gardening items:

185g jars of Opies cocktail onions only 10p each, so cleared the shelf as the seeds and vinegar would cost more than that. 225g Jars are 89p in Tesco, so 73p pro-rata.

Double packs of squeaky dog toys only 10p per pack, reduced from 99p.

Just been in Poundstretcher this morning , they seem to have consolidated all the garden stuff into one aisle with good reductions . Was a flying visit so didn't note anything . We did get black peppercorn in a plastic grinder for £0.50 , and John West microwave egg fried rice £0.49 may be OK to try at work for my lunch. We have bought John West boil in the bag long grain rice from B and M for years, always £0.99 for 5 bags , amazing value.
