I want to grow some baby leeks this year. Is it a case of growing normal leeks but harvesting earlier or is there a specific variety to use? Can these be grown in pots?

    Thanks
    Rusty

To grow 'baby leeks' I transplant those sown early into bunches and drop the whole contentents of a cell into a dibbed hole after shaking the soil off:

or if sown in open ground drop a selected bunch into a dibbed hole.

My method is to use a 'standard' size variety and force them to produce runts by planting muliple leeks in one hole.

I've never grown leeks in pots.
