    Some of my disasters:
Ceanothus and Callistememon gave up the ghost completely.
Both hibiscus bushes dropped their leaves in mid August before flowering time.
Sanguinaria and Wood anemones failed to appear.
Tomatos and potatoes got blight, broad beans got chocolate spot which discoloured the beans.
Chili peppers are not ripe yet.
    Melons got mildew.
Pepinos grew beautifully but have not produced flowers or fruit.
To add insult to injury the tomatos rescued from blight are now flourishing, flowering and fruiting well. I have had to cut off the flowers to try and encourage the set fruit to ripen before frosts.
Figs are finally ripening in ones and twos, and again some will probably not ripen soon enough.
Perhaps I should find another hobby!
    :( :(

    Liz,

As David Soul once sang 'don't give up on us baby', i had a 2 year period of almost total disasters and was feeling soooooooo deflated, but there is always next year as i found. I'm so pleased i didnt give up. So hang in there, true womanly grit and determination and a hug i am sending [IMG]

Strongy, thank you very much for your seed offer- I have some seedlings from seed you sent me last year! still tiny though. This was a larger bush which I had for 5 years.
On the bright side my sunflowers were enormous and the morning glories have been beautiful. [IMG]
