I bought a gorgeous Wisteria a couple of years back to grow along front of house, well this year I have nothing but a few leaves, it's blind, totally sightless. Now i know this can happen from time to time but should I have fed it? I'm not running out there with a sunday roast :D but have i 'not done' something?

I hard pruned it in the Autumn/beginning of winter but nowt else

    Hi,
Could you explain how hard you pruned the plant and maybe give photo?

AG, you`ve cut it back too hard, you should only cut it back by a third of the current years growth. Start feeding it tomato feed to ensure it flowers next year.:thumb::)

I used to cut back the long current growths in July, and then cut back any regrowth from these to a couple of buds in December.
I never cut into old wood,at anytime, and mine flowered amazingly.
Sadly it ran out of space and in a moment of madness I dug it out, always regretted that.

At the moment it is looking like a yound triffid, all leaves and fronds. I need to attach it to the wall. Craig used to do that sort of thing but i think maybe i will have to get my gardener neighbour to do it for me :D

I have taken the pic but Alex is the computer genius so he has to put it on my lappy :rolleyes
