Our established bamboo (three bushes around 8ft tall each) which is in a sunny spot in our garden planted around our patio area seems to be attracting loads of flies. This happens every year in the summer. No dead bodies/ rotting material that I can find. Any ideas on why / ways to deal with it? It’s really not pleasant sitting on the patio as it is. Thanks all.

Are you sure it's the bamboo attracting the flies.
What kind of flies are they and does it happen right through the summer or just at certain times.

Good afternoon I get loads of flies and other insects on my 6 bamboo plants but fortunately I also have lots of sparrows most of the time and they are always in and out of the Bamboo but I do sometimes give them a wash off with a pressure washer ,strange to say but I never get flies or insects on my two Black bamboo plants:smile:
