    A couple of questions here ...
    !. Which species is this please? I believe it is one @roders sent me years ago.
    2. It has dead stems here and there. Do you just cut them out to tidy it up/

      dont know the variety but if you are taking the older scraggy ones out remove at the base ...
      plus bamboo are hungry plants so a shrub or rose fertiliser is ideal dont use one that is high in nitrogen

        It is I think Phyllostachys Aura.
        I have had it about 25 years ,it’s pretty much trouble free ,as Spruce says cut out any dead branches and any bits you don’t like ,it’s a tough old plant but contrary to popular belief it may need extra water.
