    Hi people can anybody tell me when you seperate a musa basjoo pup from its mother does the mother and the pup grow faster or will thay grow faster if left together?Thanx guys ...daz

    You dont separate before the pup has roots of its own, if you do, its fatal I find.
    That usually means the pup has to be three feet or more high, one reason why you dont get small offsets growing on their own.
    I think it can vary according to spiecies as to how long it takes before the pup gets it own roots.
    Basjoo seems to root fairly quickly, sikki, on the otherhand takes a bit longer, I find.

    Personally I dont think the parent grows any different, with or without pups. I do think that the pup may grow slightly faster once it has established itself.

    I'd just leave them where they are cos when you get the main plant to flower, the main plant will die then you will have big babies to grow on and flower and so on. [​IMG]
