Hooray for April showers and the growth that we have seen in our gardens this month. Everything is getting going now and some nice surprises are making themselves known. Last year my Paulownia budded up, and it's hard to believe 6 months and a winter have passed and some have survived for it's first ever flowering :thumb:

Rain on the lense can't detract from just how beautiful this tree is. I love it's form, flowers and enormous summer leaves.

Other interest are the ferns and hostas which progress with every rain shower.

I suppose that you think that just because the warm weather is coming you can now make all us poor people feel inferior with your swanky posh plants.. Well you can't. .Do you understand - you can't.

Where the hell are the sobbing smiley and the 'I.m feeling paranoid' smiley?

Keep 'em coming BM even though I ruined 3 keyboards last year by drooling over them.. And I didn't join GC untill August.. :D

Thanks guys, yes everything in the garden is survive or die now. The Paulownia is untouched since its planting in 2004 apart from lower levels to allow access to the path. It will probably get trimmed next year as its getting to roof level and I would like to keep it sturdy. A nice frame can be taken from the way it has grown to date.

Another attempt at the flowers through a second floor window. I need a bigger ladder !

It all looks like it survived the frost and cold, Babe, and I know you are delighted. :)

Your Paulownia looks very much like my Jacaranda waking up ... the flowers are very similar ... had you noticed that before? I'll try to get a pic in the next couple of days except you may be a wee bit ahead of me and perhaps next weekend would be a better time for pics from me.

Oooh, I do love this answering a message and scrolling down to look back at piccies and comments and then come back up here again .... FIRST CLASS! :thumb:
