banana plant outside

    when shall i put my banana plant outside. It is in the shed at the moment and has new growth on it. Should i leave it untill next month

    Hi nicsdad i put my banana out 1st week in april just have the fleese ready in case of frost.What type of banana is it?My banana is a basjoo .i only just started growing bananas so i dont know to much but theres alot of nana growers on here with good advice...daz

    Mine are all out too, cos their out permanantly in the ground all winter, basjoos that is. My Ensetes have been out for about 3 weeks too. Basjoos are on their 3rd leaves already, about 7ft high!! :D

    They look like they live here, pete! [​IMG] Do you trim the brown bits off and tidy them up? Here they are left to their own devices, quite sad, actually! :(

    Is that a Clematis montana in the left background? I love the way they take over and cascade.

    And what's that on the right, a Fuchsia, or is it too early there? Mine are just starting, so will flower by the weekend.

    I dont trim the brown bits off much, I like them to look natural, plus I cant be bothered. :D I just let them get on with it. It gives a more tropical look I think.
    The clematis is not mine although I always think that a clematis is a plant that you plant for the neighbours, it always wants to be in THEIR garden.
    The plant to the right is a flowering currant.Ribes something or other. [​IMG]
