Try seed compost, it has all the right nutrients, then use multi purpose with john innes to pot on

I think the type of compost you use is the least of your worries!

Whys' that? Are they particularly hard to grow? (Only asking because I was thinking of having a go at growing some nanas from seed!)

I dont think growing from seed is difficult, the big problem is finding good seed in the first place, by that I mean fresh seed.
I have a theory that, along with palm seed, it doesn't keep well.

I also have a theory that ensete are more likely to germinate than musa.

    But I'm probably wrong. :D

WWW.jungleseeds.co.uk You have to grow at the right temperatures, like palms some germinate quite quickly others can take upto 18 months. [IMG]
