Hi there folks. I have a banana plant (Musa Basjoo) and was wondering when it would be safe to plant outdoors ? I bought it last year as a young plant. Over the winter it died down in my cold greenhouse (still in it's original pot) but has since made good progress and is probably around 1ft high and looking like it wants to get on with it. Over the past couple of weeks I've been leaving it outside during the day to harden it off a bit. Cheers...freddy.

    Carry one with ...

After the last of the frosts plant out. No point chancing a newbie banana for the sake of a few weeks bringing it in at night.

Ahh. Banana Man, how apt :D Should I therefore consider potting it on ? At the moment I'd say it's in a 9" pot. Cheers...freddy.

Yes BM, when, as you say, the risk of frost is past.

Don't bother potting on then, they like a little pot boundedness.:)
