Bit late this month but still lots to see.

Start off with some late flowers of my Clematis Nameescapesmeous and Home Sweet Home a cracking climbing Rose, plus I notice the Fatsia is coming into bloom aswell.

Cut down the miscanthus early this year and it has produced a lovely crop of garden canes.

I am enjoying some of the trunk textures around the garden now that the leaves have all but fallen.

    Ficus carica

    Paulownia tomentosa

    Sorbus aria

Plants that continue to do well in this strange weather are the gunnera and the cannas. Also I forgot about a musa siki but he seems fine so far. I will move him in this weekend but just shows how protected the garden has become.

The tree ferns have there winter hats on which consist of an old bath towel, a large pot and a bin liner. This has worked well with occasional watering and I am happy with this method for such and expensive plant.

This little Dicksonia on the other hand seems far hardier under the cherry tree and I do not cover him in anything but a few of the fronds removed from the taller specimens.

The bananas are all tucked up too in their little heated house.

Those leaves that do remain attached (for now) are also looking snazzy. I think overall it has been a good year for autumn colour.

Bamboos are still nice and green and my private area needs a winter clearing, but all in all looks ok just the cold winter light that changes the tropical feeling.

And of course I have a new snazzy garage door courtesy of the one that is known as WEBMASTER. If any of you live in the Essex area I can highly recomend Nathan's services. Its really cool, although my handy re-glazing made the biggest difference ;) :D

Gorgeous photos and colours, BM! Love that climbing rose and I want you to pronounce the name of that Clematis! :D

You'd get a frit in the night if you encountered that Tree Fern unexpectedly! and just love the banana tree telephone booth ... do you phone them to see if they are okay?

I've enthused too much .... [IMG] [IMG]

Hi LoL, my brother calls it a porta-loo, although I prefer tardis :D The banana will happily carry on flowering in there. I used to use flue liners but they get to a height where the wind will topple what becomes a huge chimney. Plus it is never as warm as the porta-loo ;)
