Hi guys first thread here, I’m trying to rejuvenate my turf, we have had the turf fitted about 2 years ago, and we have 2 dogs so naturally parts are dying I’m trying to bring life to it, any hints and tips to try would be greatly appreciated

Liz the pot is our lawn expert here bengi but I would do a few things :)

Water ASAP those doggy affected areas...here now n then the dog urinates on back lawn although the gravel paths are usually used. I soak the area, scratch it and then overseed. It seems to work well :)

Raise the height of cut too....makes quite a difference to the quality of the grass plus helps retain some moisture in the turf. Mow at least once a week.

You didn’t mention any weeds so I would apply a liquid lawn feed now and again next month.

If you can, water the lawn to prevent it drying out:)

There are rejuvenating jobs you can do but best left to autumn, mid September:)

Yeh I get various weeds , mainly nettles etc which I believe to be landing in the garden rather than growing through the membrane

Have you treated the lawn or used any type of chemical on the lawn?
When did you first notice the patches?
Have you watered the lawn or are watering the lawn?
Did the lawn suffer badly in last years heat wave?
      How large is the lawn?

I have never treat the lawn and only watered it when the turf was lay originally , it did suffer when we noticed cracks in the soil below during the heatwave. Area is approximately 5x5 metres

      Quite a small area.
It does sound like doggy damage.
No lawn feed treatment will solve that issue I’m afraid and you could put it all right but be facing the same issue down the line.
I’m no expert on the artificial grass but I know breeders who have opted for this due to the damage to their lawns but I have to be honest if the lawn has deteriorated steadily since it was laid I think I would think about other options.

We had considered the artificial but to be honest we try to stay away from plastics etc for environmental reasons, which lawn fees would you recommend to try.

Non, no matter what you feed the lawn will continue to suffer and will not improve as long as the dogs use the lawn.
