Has anybody got bat plants from T&M to grow.
I bought some for a friend.
No growth up to now, I do not know what the growing conditions are that he is growing/not growing them in, other than its in a greenhouse.

Just wonder if anyone else has had any luck.

:) Ooh Pete, slightly off topic here, but while I was away I was invited to walk round a garden in Jamaica. It was fab & I shall post some pics... But what I wanted to say was she had the most fabulous bat plants.. Of course I managed a pic, so when I find it I will post it in here for you. She is also going to save me some seed for when I go in Nov as some will be ripe then....;):thumb: Shall I try & get as many as I can?? She is also going to get me a baby or two as well...;);):thumb:

Would be nice Marley, as I say I bought the tubers for someone else who was not into online ordering.
He planted them, two black and one white, but he now says they are shrivelling, even after following T&Ms "ten steps to sucsess".
Mind you the postman did leave them on the doorstep, as they wouldn't fit through the letter box, and it was snowing at the time.
The instructions said they could withstand 37F, -4C, so it was all a bit missleading.

Thanks Marley, I'll get some seed and throw it out in the garden, its bound to grow.:D

Its a pretty big leafy plant we're talking about then.
Need a lot of greenhouse space, if it grows that is.

The plants that I got for the friend have been given back to me now, half rotten, to see if I can get any life out of them.
Dont hold out much hope for the black ones, but the white one looks as if it still has a chance.

I'm not holding my breath though.

 Oh doesn't it make you sick Pete.. Here we are struggling to get them to grow & she has to do nothing really & they grow..!!! Mind you, it does seem that way about just about any plants there..!!! She doesn't really do anything to it. It just lives on the porch with some of her Anthurian lilies. She has some shading material over the top to keep the hot sun off it...:thumb: Oh yes, have you seen a double Anthurian lily.?? I hadn't but she has a couple. One of which is on the porch there.. Not sure what pics I have of that, will have a look... I took so many in her garden...!!:D:D

Yep, we struggle because we dont have the constant day and night heat, and high light levels that they get there.
Also I'm not sure how viable, some of the seed we are sold, is.
As for the roots we are sold?
