We were in a friend’s garden along the road the other evening with a bat flying around. I bemoaned the fact that I’ve never seen a bat in our garden. A few nights later I was woken by noisy seagulls at 4.30 in the morning. I looked out as it was getting light to see two bats bombing around the garden, so close I could properly see their shape! They were there for ages, just for me.:)

I have bats here Emaggie and see them 'bombing' around the garden most evenings at dusk. I suspect they hang around (excuse the pun) my neighbours old wooden garage. :)

I’m guessing ours hang out in the church belfry. The church is in the next road and bell ringing practice is on hold due to Covid-19. :yahoo: I so hope they will stay when ringing is resumed...or maybe set up home nearby. It really is....an unusual sound shall we say?

I don't think the bats will enjoy an alarm call every day from the bells. :) They will probably move elsewhere when the ringing returns.

Maybe I should hatch a plan to scupper the bells. I’d rather have bats. :stirpot:

We got a few bats under the roof tiles, last count 38 :) but they do move from nest site to nest site, next year they may not be here
