bats

    Hi all,just looked out of the study window to see a bat flyig around its quite small,been doing this for at least an hour,how unusual is that? [​IMG]

    We have a streetlight at the end of our garden and most nights in the summer there is a bat flying around the light - probably a bit like a drive-in for him! ;)

    He's been there for years now - the bugs must still be in plentiful supply! :D

    Occasionally see one myself around here, but its getting less common.
    Its amazing how they fly silently. [​IMG]

    we have a bat hibernacle near us..................
    good word or not "hibernacle" !!!

    anyway Martin found a dead one in the garden yesterday - oh and long long story of how they have taken over and nearly destroyed our local church.

    I just adore bats. [​IMG] They are beautifull creatures and always bring back happy childhood memories of Aunty and Uncle's farm.

    I've never been able to photograph one in flight though :D

    The point l was making guys is that its was flying around in daylight, in fact as l speak its out there now time 4 30 pm [​IMG] [​IMG]

    We have bats here and I love them. I have planted in several places Cobea (cup and saucer vine) and supposedly it gets pollinated by bats so I'm waiting ....

    There's a bat sanctuary on the IoW near where our place is, which I think is great! [​IMG]

    We have had Pipistrelles here now and then [​IMG] but not regularly, never seen any other species. :(
