Apparently they're forecasting 65mph storms and gales for N Wales and N England tomorrow (Sunday) so get everything secured and take care!

Thanks for the warning Biker, it's becoming more and more common throughout the year but late spring to early ''summer'' can really spoil the results of weeks of effort. I lost a few things last Wednesday to wind damage, hope this weekend is not too bad for any of us, wind forecast for us down here in the southwest too, cheers T Digger

    Just been wet here.

Visiting the parents in Norfolk for the next few days, was going to volunteer some help in the garden, be just typical for the weather to be terrible :( Ah well, GnT in the conservatory it is!

My spuds have already been damaged. I had to cut several of the stalks down - they are getting pretty tall. Will I still get a crop from these plants? First year gardening

Tal I think if the stalks get flattened you just leave them - as a farmer would - dont cut them off, there is a previous thread on this. My spuds have taken a battering as well.
Heating on here yesterday as well ( the first day of summer ) . Taken my baskets into cover for a week !
New BBQ , new patio set virtually unused ! :(

Glad to hear that i am not the only who has had the heating back on.I am fed up with sitting indoors with layers of clothing on so I just flip the switch on and I am soon like toast:D

Mr Kandy was listening to Craig {1st Big Brother Winner} on the local radio the other day and he was saying that a lot of peoples central heating boilers or pumps pack up because come the warmer weather no one has the heating on so it can pack up over the summer period and the fault is not found until the Autumn/Winter when the system is turned back on.Things are just not made to last these days:rolleyes::(

I am sitting here with my layers on Kandy, trying to save cash!!

Not ventured out for a look at things, but from the window, everything looks OK here (just a bit windswept). Am glad I tied a few things back while the weather was good.

Hope there's not too many losses allround...

Oh Daisees, I hope they don't get ruined, they're lovely.

    Fingers crossed everyone.

Makes me laugh when we've heard about global warming etc when people are having to put their heating on this time of year. Well, not laugh exactly but I do wonder who to believe.

Keep out of the wind if you don't need to, stay safe & wait.

    cheers
