I have two bay tree lollipops in pots which were recently repotted. Yesterday I noticed a white powdery mildew on the trunks of them both. Does anyone know what it may be and if it is treatable.

I think it sounds like scale insects which secrete a glucose substance - scrape off as much as you can then wash the trunk of the tree with a soapy liquid.

Thank you - I'm on the case.
