I wanted to watch a programme I had missed and downloaded BBC i player. Since I did so my laptop has been impossibly slow but it took me a while to link the problem back to this. I have just uninstalled it and the laptop is back to normal. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes UJH Just this minute cancelled a BBCi download as it was taking so
long to download. Started at 2.30pm and it says another 4 hours to go and it is
    only a 60 min programme!!

And my pc is soooooo slow :(

So I have stopped the download and am going to uninstall.
It'll have to be something very important before I try again.

I downloaded I player and found that startup was very slow.

It was loading up, everytime I started up, and slowed everything down.

I now still have it but I've stopped it loading on start up.

It just loads if I want to use it.

Just watched the final of Last Choir Standing which I missed. Was all hunky dory so far as I can see and LT is singing along just fine. And I watched it on High Quality.

What's your connection speed? Mine is 54mps.

No problems for me. I use the BBC i Player, SKY Player, and CH5 on demand. I was streaming one program the other day and watching it at the same time as downloading and storing another.
Im running Vista on my inspirion laptop and my desk top is a beast and will handle all of those with no problems. Not much help I know, and Im no expert, but it points to either your service provider speed or your PC needs abit of clear out/update?
