    Hi there .

not sure what the weather is like in the rest of the UK but here in Cornwall it is a bit wild. Just had to chase my woolly hat down the street after it blew off. some roads are blocked because of fallen trees. so if you can help it probably best to stay inside and keep safe.

Stay safe people. It's windy up here in the North, but nothing as bad a last week!

Hi Grasshopper, sorry to hear that you are having it quiet bad down in Cornwall and on the news not so long ago they were saying that a tree has been blown across both lines near Bodmin? And damaged the train so passengers are being forced to stay put inside the train because they don't want anyone wandering around on live lines:hate-shocked:

Not sure where Mount Hawke is in Cornwall so can't visualise the area,as to whether you are in land or near the coast.

Up here in th Midlands we have it quiet windy and there are now a few empty wheelie bins blowing around on the roads and my back garden lawn is like a bog but apart from that our house is still standing (touch wood:snorky:)

Very gusty in Suffolk. I've just driven through a village called Clare, a few houses are missing their ridge tiles :hate-shocked:, I hope the people who own the houses have insurance :dbgrtmb:.

Pretty gusty around here with a few trees down. Strangely there is sunshine, rain and gales.

It's howling here - all but 8 panes of glass in my greenhouse were shattered during the night, which is very upsetting as I had it all renovated (from being very run down when I moved in) last year so haven't even grown anything in it. I think I'll give up on it as it's sure to happen again.

Nah, ask any Northerner ... their wind is harsher, colder and more biting than our wind ;) (and as the only Southerner in my own family growing up ... I can get away with saying that :roflol: )

Sorry to hear that JJ

Given up on mine till these storms subside, winds blowing in one side and out the other at the moment.

It doesn't cost much to get the glass toughened, just had some done, think it was only a quid or so per sheet.

Not as windy here as was forecast I dont think.
Surely toughened glass is only another name for safety glass, it breaks just as easily, just isn't so dangerous when it does?

It wasn't too bad here in the end, I think it was worse on Saturday. Just a few miles further south in Hampshire they have power cuts and my son and family have come to stay with us as they have a baby son and their house is too cold.

Sorry to read that everyone is in such a mess. The storm that was predicted for 4-8" in Long Island NY gave me only 2". The weather channel gave it the name "Mars". We're up to the "M"s already!?
