and think I have my list of plants for my little boarder but thought I'd check what I have put together for a bit of advice in case I have missed/ignored/not read any info...

Garden is north facing and one side gets a little sunlight in the morning so on that border I thought (in 3's)
    mesenbryanthemum, begonia and geraniums
foxgloves (2 pinks and a white)
    snowdrops
    winter flowering pansies
    primroses

I already have sweetpeas growing across the fence with the decking beneath it which will look lovely and am going to put winter flowering honeysuckle on the other side (which gets very little sunlight)

On the archway (trellis) I'm going to put winter flowering honeysuckle and clematis

On the less sunny back of the garden is the only plant that was there when we moved in... a beautiful camelia, so thought on one side I could put a viburnum eskimo (very unsure about this cos have read very mixed ideas) with 3 diff lavenders beneath them and some mixes of foxgloves (Which I understand will not flowe this year), freesias and ??? to their right (by a hedge or leylandii.

How does that sound? Is there anything glaring which I should be aware of? I've tried to get differing heights for some variety but essentially going for a cottagey garden type thing......

so... comments? Ideas? help?!?! sorry for all the questions but its my first garden and I want to at least start on the right track [IMG]

Go for a winter flower Clematis. Something like cirrhosa Freckles or C. cirrhosa Jingle Bells.
