Hi just joined this afternoon. Nearly finished my summer project.
We have made a new patio with Old Yorkstone slabs, basicly to get rid of part of our grass area and really change our garden.

I came up with an idea we have had a fantastic heatwave and thought of my own wee personal beach.

Got sand, pebbles and alpine gravel more sand to give an effect of being at the beach.

Very effective and a place to relax and reflect.

I even got some small sea green pebbles that glow in the dark to give the look of a rock pool.

I must admit I am real proud of my acheivement it has all come together. [IMG] Added some grasses just perfect.

Still needs more shells and a piece of driftwood just to finish it off.

Hello, Scotkat, and welcome to GC!

Like your beach theme. Funnily enough, we bought some packets of the glow in the dark pebbles yesterday! [IMG] I have a sand garden dotted with aromatic shrubs ... it's for my cats to loll around in and keep cool in scented comfort!

My foyer / entrance hall is done in a beach theme ... although I haven't spread the sand around the floor, which is an old gold coloured tile! :D I do have some large stones, a sand-washed blue chest with shells and a little picnic basket on the top (filled with more shells) on top of which a fake (but very real looking) crab sits! I have a gull on a stick and a candle lighthouse with swirling silver seagulls on top. Behind the chest is a net filled dotted with shells, a starfish and a carved wood seahorse. It is topped with a clock in a life dingy thingy! There is also a pot of bullrushes and a seagull hanging from the ceiling where you pull a string and his wings flap!

Be nice to see some pictures of your project and hope you find a nice piece of driftwood.

    Hope you enjoy the site!

Hello, again, Scotkat. You are asking the site's technophobe to help you here! :D :D I can at least point you in the right direction .... go to the forum home page and scroll to the bottom to the Site Feedback and Information section. The third forum down is the How To .... section. This is where you will find detailed information on posting photographs! We look forward to seeing them.

Thank you for your kind comments on my garden. At this time of the year I don't get much gardening done, just deadheading, tidying up, etc, and that's in the evenings and watering where the irrigation doesn't go to! [IMG]
