    Hello everyone!!
This winter i want to have something in my veg patch to harvest next year. I have never done this before & would very much like some advice.

Im planning to grow 'Pea Feltham First' from seed direct into my veg patch, & 'Broad Bean Aquadulce Claudia' as plants put into my veg patch. Do I have to give them any special care like covering with fleece for the winter? Do I have to prepare the soil any different from summer varieties?

Also I want to plant Calabrese, do i still need to protect them from the cabbage white butterfly or should they be gone for when i plant them in September (I'm planting them out as plants not from seed)?

    King Regards

I don't know about the Peas.

Aquadulce Broad Beans are designed to be planted in November and overwintered. Needs a sheltered spot, but no further cossetting.

Calabrese will be at risk from Pigeons, I reckon, even if the butterflys have stopped breeding by then.
