I thought you might like to see this beautiful specimen in my friend's garden ...

... and the incredible Tecoma stans behind it ...

Can anyone name the other plants around it?

You are only trying to make us poor devils in Yorkshire, who are struggling to grow Chamaerops humilis, green with envy aren't you LoL? (Sob.Sob.)

But you won't succeed, I promise you, you won't succeed..........OK, you succeeded. At least I got my g.house ordered today. Yipee! (and that was your fault as well, sending me seeds that I've wanted for ages.) :D :D (Please send me a cheque to cover the cost of the g.house).

So, I'm to blame for all of your problems, am I John?

As far as the cheque goes, I only pay in cash and we're in different currencies. :D

Where's pete to ID all these trees and shrubs? ... because I certainly don't know, only the Shinus.

What do you mean problems, LoL? I'm as happy as a pig in......clover. I was just hoping you might pay for the g.house. We have to live on bread and dripping over Christmas because of your generosity with the seeds. If you won't send a cheque, at least send a very large turkey. ;)

It makes my Beaucarneas look small LoL.

Perhaps in thirty or forty years along with global warming, I might be able to match it. :D

Just a thought, I'll probably be dead then.
Why couldn't this global warming thing have started 50 yrs ago. :D

Acalypha Willksiana or Godseffiana (beef steak plant) on the left. The yellow tree looks like a Thevetia but your going to tell me it's not !
Chamy Humillis, Chamy Humillis Cerifera and what looked like a Phoenix at first is possibly a Neodypsis Decarei (Triangle palm).

Just noticed you ID the Tecoma already [IMG]
I know, if it was a Thevetia it wouldn't have long seed pods. [IMG] [IMG]

As stated above, Acalypha Wilksiana, there are many cultivars of this some are red/pink/purple and some yellow/cream/green.

Sorry, strongy, obviously wasn't paying attention either. I actually looked at that in the garden centre a half an hour before (the house belongs to the garden centre) ... may have to consider a purchase as the colours are so beautiful. [IMG]

Lol, I wish we could grow them here, they make a fantastic hedge, there is a cultivar with splindley thin leaves similar to a Croton and there is another A. Hispida similar to Amaranthus (love Lies Bleeding) with long red tassels. Got the room for a new collection? [IMG]

pete, I THINK this Beaucarnea is about 25, perhaps 30 years old ... I'll ask Stu, because I think his father planted it when they started the Garden Centre ... but it is in the ground. [IMG]

strongy, I can't get Love Lies Bleeding going here ... have two pathetic specimens about 15cms tall I did from seed LAST YEAR. No, I haven't got room but maybe I can find some ... there is this one little spot ...

pete, there was this most magnificent Iresine there (already about 1m x 1m) and I forced myself not to buy it ... I didn't have much luck with the last one.

Yes, John, pete is younger than us. [IMG] [IMG]

Pete, Beefsteak is used for both plants but Acalypha is, or was years ago, also called Match me if you can (due to the fact that no leaves look the same), Beefsteak is easier! [IMG]
