I have a few raised flower beds in the garden, & last year had a problem with 1 bed in particular. The problem was that the various bedding plants I put in this bed had a tremedous amount of greenage but very little flowers. Is it the soil, as apart from the fact that last summer was the wetest ever on record, the other beds were seem affected.

Knowing what flowers in particular were affected would help us answer your question!

My first thought is; your soil is high in 'nitrogen'

Did you feed this bed? and if so with what?

Did you prepare the bed in a different manner from the others?

Sounds like the rest of us too cold and wet , just a bad year all-round .
I find personally Nemisia Snap Dragons Verbena just don't flower long enough ok if mixed in with other longer flowering summer plants that can take over when they are spent.
Most petunias dont take to being wet & cold , and the begonias in pots baskets troughs done ok but took a age to get going due to lack of warmth and sunshine but lasted well into early Autumn.

Lets hope this year it better for all of us
