Do you need help with your garden beehive? Contact Gavin Bell New Zealand Beekeeper. [email protected]
Hi Gavin, I don't quite understand this poll? The options are "Do you have a garden bee hive?" "Do you need help?" As you are using radio buttons, I don't see how you could answer the questions using this poll - if you select "yes I have a garden bee hive" you can't also select "I need help".. and vice versa. Mind you, I would definitely answer yes to the latter question, but I don't own a bee hive!
Hi Dave Sorry Iff there is anyone out there who wants help with there Beehive. I can help. Regards Gavin
Hi Gavin, Sorry - I didn't mean any offence by that post, I just didn't get it. :D I've never really thought much about bee hives.. are they expensive to setup? Cheers, Dave
Hi None taken You can set one up for around £60.00.There is hobbie shops that will sell you the equipment. Gavn
Maybe it's something I'll have a look at - I hope other (more experienced) people can find your information useful on this site :D
Gavin, anything on line that would explain, what you require and how to maintain a beehive, something I have never thought about.
ive seen temporary bumble bee "homes" in Garden Warehouse .. i assume they come with bees, they are for pollination
Hello Not sure on web sights but i can have a look.Theres lots of books out there. I'll get some names for you. As for Bumbles they are amazing, they are the biggest pollinaters. The queens will find these homes you buy in the early spring or winter time to nest in. You can sit there and watch them come and go allday long
Lady Gardener,,, Come WITH bees, you having a laugh, !! surely,.. They are homes for bees to go into, anyway, back to the serious, Gavin you have me intrested, any advice welcome.
Its not to late!! The Queen Bumble Bee forages around dry area's of your garden. Anywhere a mouse would nest. They have been known to throw out mice from the nest in order to have the nest. Pick a nice sunny corner [If you have one]in your garden.Cover the box with somthing that will keep it dry. Try to have a entrance 10cm-20cm long from the box. They like flying or walking down dark holes/tunnals. If there are Queen bumble bees around she should find it. Gavin
