    Morning all,
Yesterday went 'window shopping' at a local small nursery.(fir tree farm -www.cornwallgardens.com) No intention of buying anything as my garden is a long way off being planted yet. Ahem  and it does perennials and I really need an evergreen tree/shrub. Came home with 2 Miscanthus floridulus giganteus (saw BMs miscanthus and seem to have developed a bit of a pash for them),some daylily Little Missy, daylily Bela Lugosi and Crocosmia 'Apricot Surprise'. Showed remarkable self-control to stop there! I got this gardening thing bad :D :D

Well done Windy - many worse things to spend your money on than beautiful plants that will (hopefully!) last a very long time [IMG] Thats what I tell myself anyway, when I do it!!! ;)

    Morning Gogs,
The best thing was trying to fit the Miscanthus in a Saxo, chose the smallest ones they had and couldn't see out of the windows all the way home :D
Still need an evergreen tree/shrub though.Might have to pop to another nursery later :D :D

    Morning Marge,
I find the worse thing is falling in love with things you can't grow in your conditions. And for some reason you always love them that bit more....

Windy, I know exactly what its like.
Mrs D is always worried when I suggest you pop in to "have a look" at any nursery.
She certainly makes sure she has got my wallet on those occasions just to be sure I only look.
We still seem to come back with something though as she is only slightly more restrained than me. ;)

T'other half often sits in the car (in this heat) while I "go have a look" but sometimes he has to get out of the car to help me carry everything back! :D :D :D I did manage to go in the other week, look and come out empty-handed! [IMG] Was soon back a couple of days later with itchy hands. Must go either later today or over the weekend as I want to empty two sad-looking wall baskets (Petunias gone yukky) and uproot my tomatoes from their large planter (they are very sad and the whitefly are driving me mad under the kitchen window) and put some pretty in, especially since we've got UK visitors next week (only visiting not staying)! Phew, that was a long sentence!

I'm with you LoL, with these withdrawal symptoms there should be health warnings! Never buy shoes, clothes or handbags......but have lied quite a few times over the price of a plant!!! ;)

Besides the plant buying this weekend, there's the massive monthly open market in the two 6kms away. I always go but t'other half will have none of it, so I have quite a field day. Probably will come back with some summer tops. Have about 20 pair of toe-posts now so don't need any more of them! Of course, there's the entire plant / tree section there as well .... ooohhh! :D

I am like that as well, I went to B&Q last night for some more cord for the strimmer came back with the cord ok.... plus three hardy fuchsia which were reduced to £2.00 each (nothing wrong with them at all) and a tray of bedding plants to tidy up my pots. And then had to try and 'sneak' them roudn to the back of the house with out BF seeing them (he has given up on me and the garden!!)

I'm lucky - I can indulge as much as I like, as we're still filling up our garden!!! And I get to try out new things, as I design gardens for other people, so it doesn't even cost me money for that - Mr Dendy is quite ok about that :D (And, since he's just bought himself a boat, I'm in quite a good position to buy what I want too....

Windy I know that well - it is rare I come out of the garden centre, with just what I went in for. And as for plants which won't grow in ones soil/climate etc. Ain't that what containers, patios and greenhouses are for :D :D

    Morning all,
Glad to see I aint the only plantaholic out there :D Had to go to the dentist yesterday :( so to cheer myself up popped into the village hall on the way home. Came out with a huge Beschenaria yuccoides and a 5ft Hedychium Tara. Patio pots it'll have to be! And the Hedychium is completely impracticle as I've had to tie it to the trellis because of the strong winds yesterday. heeheehee Couldn't resist it.... :D :D
