    Hi Veg & FM

Hope this helps.I have grown mine indoors this year and this was them when they first germinated.Sorry that the photo is a little out of focus. The stems are red in colour and the stems of the seed leaves are exactly the same as the plant gets more and more sets of leaves.I have mine growing in used water cups that my husband gets from work and when they are large enough i shall be planting them out at the allotment.

Weed seedlings are usually green along the stem and the real leaves and seed leaves are also green.Good Luck and shout if you need any more help:thumb:

Well with mine you can tell they are beetroot because although they are green they have a tinge of red about them but that maybe just the variety I am growing which is Detroit 2. They are about 3/4" at the moment.

Hi Moyra,my variety are Bolthardy so that might be the reason.I usually grow that variety so only know them as red seedlings.Perhaps different varieties have different make up so will look different.:thumb:

Hi Kandy, yes took a closer look at mine and the stems are actually red although the leaves are green with a red tinge around the outside. But having said that getting back to the original question they should be fairly obvious amongs weed seedlings.
