Beetroot seedlings

    Hi all
    Do beetroot seedling need protecting from slugs I have planted them in the allotment and covered with netting ( not sure they needed that) got home then thought about slugs as I guess it is slugs that have eaten half of my parsnips I have been struggling with

    I'm pretty sure Beetroot isn't troubled by slugs, although the grown bulbs can be nibbled late in the season.

      Cheers Freddy, this light rain will help them on and I think you are right about some damage later in the season, I normally just cut the damaged bits off and still eat them

        I seem to remember reading that slugs hate anything with a red stem...

        Fingers crossed, mine seem to be untouched and they've been in about 10 days.
