I haven't, but a friend of mine does.
He plants it out for the summer and brings it over the colder months.

I have only grown them in the past in Tropical displays but I know people who plant it outside for the Summer, it can take a mild frost and possibly survive outside in London or somewhere with a microclimate. I'm not sure that they like full sun, perhaps partial shade.

My idea was to plant it in a large pot for the summer and bring into the house with a root prune and general trim for the winter. Read that they don't like full sun as it discolours the leaves to a pale green/yellow. Also they dislike being a house plant in winter because of low humidity

Mowgley - I had to Google it. Its a truly fabulous looking plant and I am very tempted to see if I could squeeze one in somewhere.

I see there are a few places that sell it. One of which is Dibleys, with a nice range of Begonias.
