begonia rex

    will begonia rex carry on growing if taken in to an heated green house and when is the best time to take leaf cuttings many thanks

    I'd take a leaf cutting pretty much any time. They generally do fine. Main thing is to have enough light and warmth, so prob best not to do through winter, but I've had success on a window ledge in Feb/March. Works faster through spring / summer / autumn though, in my experience.

    Have you tried dividing them too?

    My mother-in-law had a begonia rex and every time she knocked a leaf off she put it in a plant pot, she ended up with dozens of plants.

    :D Isn't it great - some plants are so happy to grow for us!! I do the same with loads of plants, and end up with very odd mixtures. There are two happy little kalanchoes in with a ficus benjamina!! I really ought to repot the lot....
