Belgian Loaf recipe boil in pan

    1 cup of sugar
    1cup of milk
    1cup of sultanas or half cranberries and sultanas and dates

    4os marg
    2cups of plain flour
    half teasp baking poweder
    half teasp baking soda

    Put sugar milk fruit and marg into pan an melt bring to boil and leve till tepid .

    Stir inflour baking powders and egg.

    Put in greased loaf tin and bake in mod oven for 1hr or 45 mins.

    Sparky yes it is a nice tea bread or even a good picnic loaf or iof you go hill walking nice to carry for a snack.

    Normal recipe is only sultanas but I wanted to add cranberies and dates.

    Have made it many times only with sultanas and next time half marg and other half butter and cranberries and sultanas.

    This weekend used all butter and made with cranberries ,dates
    and sultanas.

    Loaf finished it was so good did not last.
