I planted this Amelanchier last September. When it was delivered I stupidly put it in the shed for a day or so which bent the top of the trunk slightly, which it retains to this day. Should I worry and/or replace the tree or will it be fine? Any chance it will ever straighten the actual bend out itself?

Probably not would be my guess.
Before it becomes too rigid you could try taping it to a cane to straighten it.

It looks as if there is already a cane in place with a side branch attached. If you want a taller tree, extend the cane and tie the leader to it, setting the side branch free. The leader should still be flexible enough to allow you to do this. Personally, I’d be happy with the current shape as it fills the gap between your other plants. Some varieties have quite a loose habit and can also be pruned to shape, like shrubs, to suit your requirements. So another option is to prune the leader to encourage bushier growth below and prevent the tree from getting too tall and shading the area below.

          Hi

totally agree with Pete but how tall do u want it to grow ? Before it decides to start growing outwards. No need to replace but while it’s still young and flexible now the sap is rising to put a longer stake in

Cheers for replies all. I shall extend the cane and see what happens. It is pretty rigid at the top but I can bend it to secure to a taller cane. Ideally I want it to keep growing taller yet.
