I know I should know what this is and I think someone on GC has one (probably pete [IMG] ). I know it was referred to and pictured in one of my monthly magazines lately ... but I can't find them in the current melee of works here and it's not in my Med book.

This lovely little border is across the road from where we eat grilled chicken, the pic taken from our "regular" table ...

That name sounds familiar, pete. Will have to check it out when I locate my magazines.

Thank you ... at least it gives me something to work on as I've seen a few here.

As far as I know its the only agave that doesn't die after flowering, similar to an aloe.

That's it, we saw them for the first time in the Canaries and I remember seeing someone had one in their balcony box in Armacao - bet they didn't know what they had planted!

Swan neck now rings a bell, pete. Must admit, I hadn't gone that close, pete. Silly, I know, you would have been there examining, taking close ups, etc, etc ... :D

Sis, this is across the road from "chicken on the hill" aka Restaurant Marinha in Algoz. [IMG]
