Has anyone any experience of growing Beschorneria yuccoides?
I bought one earlier this year, and have really got confused as far as winter care goes. As seems to be the norm on tinterweb, care advice goes from one extreme to the other! The greenhouse (my Dads) is really rather full already, so any real life experience would be welcome. It is in a large clay pot.

    I think it's fairly toughish.

Needs to avoid too much winter wet.

Mine has been frosted to the ground for the last three years.

I've now given up on it and it can do what it likes.

It flowered a few years back and to be honest, although unusual I wasn't that impressed.
So I'm not prepared to put it on my winter protection list.:(

hi longk ....got my one 3 years ago , survived outside in a wet/sunny location of my garden....
Didn`t grow a lot in the last 3 years and this year a caterpillar almost hate it all .
But consider the fact that last year I`ve lost all my flax ,due of the frost, but not the beschorneria.

I'll split it next year, and keep some undercover and some in a sheltered spot.

Anyone tried leaf cuttings with this plant?

It appears to have survived well enough.

Winter wet and low temps are the real problem. We had a couple for several years until last winter saw them off. Not sure id bother again.
