I have a terrier that sheds copious amounts of short, straight fur, it gets everywhere. A well-maintained Henry hoover does well for me! It's not perfect though; if I wanted the carpets totally perfect I'd get sticky rollers involved, or possibly get a shampooer on rent.

A good old fashioned stiff sweeping brush combined with a good workout.

To remove animal hair from upholstery simply put on a pair of rubber gloves, wet the gloves & brush the area working in one direction :dbgrtmb: I use this method all the time, my cat seems to be moulting all the time now he's old, we get cat hair on the carpets, fabric sofa & chairs all the time

Any vacuum cleaner with a rotating brush - suction alone is no good.

A cordless vacuum is good - easy to reach the areas where Alfie has sat :dbgrtmb:

Those washable sticky rollers also work - but they get less sticky the more they are cleaned.

so glad I do not have to deal with GSD hair anymore in the car. what a pain. But, I would vaccum, and take a damp cloth rotating it around to gather the hair that way, and use a sticky rolling thing (line roller). it seemed to take anything I could find.

thank you all. I'll have to try harder. (PS if it was for me I would have a simple method to get rid of dog hair, but the kiddies wouldn't like that [IMG]nor the dog)

yes, well it goes with the territory when you commit to a fur baby. we now have a little cat fur. but they love being in one room and do not ride in a car to easier for me.
