I'm looking for Daphne and Sarcococca - where is best to buy? None of the reachable local places here have them so it will need to be online.

Comb your hair and smooth the creases on your apron prior to opening the parcel and they'll be just fine :heehee:

The plants may well have been grown in a greenhouse or in a sheltered spot so anyone buying a plant is wise to mollycoddle it a bit until it is acclimatised. As long as the plants are in general suitable for your climate they'll get used to it.

But it is a good precaution to acclimatise anything for a week or two. And combing that hair.

Yes, if you acclimatise as I've done and Selleri has suggested.

It is extremely easy to take cuttings from sarcococca and we always get a 100% success rate. So if you know anyone locally who has the plant but Autumn is the best time to do so.

As the plant tends to sucker very easily you may find that they have some of these and now is the right time of year to take them. :blue thumb:

Getting plants from local gardens is always the best (and cheapest :heehee:) way to guarantee success.

Given time (they're slow growing), sarcococca can grow quite big and we have three of them that have a diameter of at least 4ft and are kept at a height of about 5ft. Wonderful plants for winter flowering and the scent of just a small piece of flowering stem will fill a room. The birds love the berries. :)

That sounds lovely shiney, I'd never heard of it before, Got a local plant place here in an old walled garden. just a couple of miles from the door and I use them a lot but they arent big so I sometimes need to use online places.
                        Will do that sheal! tyvm.
