best time?

    what is the best time to plant pear trees?. i have heard APRIL. i have also been told OCTOBER?. CONFUSED!!! thank you. music.:cnfs:

    If it's bare rooted, then November would be perfect... but any time after the leaves have fallen off... until they reappear in spring... and as long as the soil isn't waterlogged or frozen

    If it's in a container... then any time... but winter is still best.

    Make sure the hole is big enough to take all the roots... mix compost in with the soil... and a little bit of bone meal... water well in... even if it's raining, this gets the soil to stick to the roots.... and keep well watered for at least the first year

    Its usually best when the trees are dormant, so any time from late Autumn to late winter really. If it is bare rooted then asap if you already have the tree now, as they don't take long to dry out.

    If it`s bare root, then November, December or January. If container grown, any time as long as the ground isn`t waterlogged or frozen.:gnthb:
