    Hi

I'm hoping we have some members who have a bit of know on subject. When I moved 2 and half years ago the kitchen had just been fitted out with Lamona appliances. The built in freezer only lasted two years before it broke down. I need to replace it but don't want to buy more nasty rubbish which will only last 2 years.

Can anyone recommend any particular brand?

Lamona are I think Howdens own brand ? By that I mean its the brand they sell along with their kitchens ?

We have a few houses which are let out and we install mostly Bosch. Very good brand with superb reliability. Spares should you need them are easy to get. I fitted all Bosch in our own house and they are superb. Having and using nice kit is pleasurable junk just annoys.

The problem is today folk are price focused and manufacturer's build down to a price rather than up to a quality . We live in a throw away world which I find annoying ! Buy cheap buy twice as they say .

Take a look at the Bosch easy access range for freezers and fridges . Pop along to a shop and have a really good look. They are so practical well designed and reliable .

    Any specific questions please ask.

    Charlie.

Here is a picture of a Bosch easy access. All of the clear plastic / acrylic shelves slide out. So its so easy to find what you are looking for without going on bended knee . This also means you can get more stuff in so better use of space. Nice and easy to clean ! . A well thought out and quiet piece of kit. You can get double height ones. Fridge on top or underneath , Double fridge . Double freezer and so on. They are low energy as well..

Another vote for Bosch. Both here and in the UK their appliances are far and away the most reliable and long-lasting.

I cant recommend any but dont go for smeg

I have a smeg fridge freezer and the rubber seals shrink so the door dont close properly and there gaps

Found out this is a common problem with their products and you solve it but having to rub warm water on the seals. Its a pain in the bum so def avoid :-)

Bosch all the way - uber-reliable, and dead easy to use.

I replaced all my white goods with AEG when I moved here years ago
Purchased from AOL, I couldn't fault the goods or the service they provided 2nd to none. Believe they are German also.

Not sure about the integrated Bosch kit.. I thought we were for some reason talking freestanding or under counter. Probably because the fridge and freezer in our house is of that type.

I will investigate and get back tomorrow !

                        Charlie.

They do integrated as well - best to go to a local Bosch dealer who will guide you.
