    Hello,

I bought a small shrub last year from my local garden centre. It had small white pungent flowers and the label said it was very bee friendly. I did more research online when I got home and apparently it would grow to as big as four metres. Unfortunately it died while I was on holiday in August and it was very dry (as usual). I can't remember the name and it hasn't come back in stock. Can anyone tell me what it is so I can replace it?

    Thanks!

Well Mock Orange is the first that Springs to mind but there are hundreds of shrubs with small white pungent flowers, a hard question to answer with no pic..

The flowers were very small in clusters. They did look a bit like privet although it was not that.

Lilac ( Syringa ) flowers in clusters similar to Privet, but I would say they were scented rather than pungent.
The other thing I can think of ( but it doesn't look like Privet ) is Pyracantha.
