Bigger red spiders or mites

    On my bare veggie patch that I am working on I have seen quite a few red spiders or mites much bigger than the teeny pin head sized ones I used to see in the UK. They have more of a triangular body shape and are about 4 mm long and wide. Are they a pest ? Not that they have much to munch on at the moment!

    :scratch: Hi Louise, I think what you are seeing are Red Velvet mites - Trombidium holocericeum & as as far as I know are friendly to gardeners.. :WINK1:

      Just had a look on google for a picture and that looks like them. I thought it was a bit of fluff until it started moving.
