Me again, sorry I am being very demanding this week! Hopefully as I learn I'll be able to impart some knowledge the other way soon!

Quick question re bind weed, I think I have imported some with two plants I got from a frends garden - I have noticed two suspicious young plants, near these plants that look to have the same shaped leaves as bindweed and as I know she has some in her garden (she assured me these were clean - I know silly mistake!) I planted them about five weeks ago and the bind weed has appeared about a foot or so from each plant so must have established some reasonable roots already. Have I committed gardeners suicide or is there any hope!

I pulled out the little blighters immediately but it is very unlikely I got all of the roots.

I am happy to sacrifice the nearby plants if it will save me years of menace - should I dig up a large section of the boarder and bin the soil?

    Cheers EGW xx

No don't waste good soil Ellie.
Dig round the plants with a fork and pull out all the rhizomes you can find and then zap and keep on zapping any new growth with Roundup or similar.
It can't be well established yet so you should should be able to get on top of it without much problem.

Thanks Dave - Sounds like a plan, hopefully it won't take hold.

    Cheers EGW

S.B.K works pretty well. I think it's cheaper than Roundup.
