    I'm useless as identifying birds but it looks like a house sparrow to me. :noidea:

        @wiseowl I'm pleased you mentioned the house sparrow otherwise they may have got the wrong impression. I'm rubbish at that as well! :sad: :loll:

          My wife tells me they are House Sparrows. I have always seen sparrows as little brown birds. Didn't know they had such attractive plumage.

                  I have to agree. There are dozens of them near me. I counted seven splashing in my tiny water feature. They were actually standing on the floating leaves to bathe.
