We have a garden bird that mimics the telephone! It just gives two brrps, but is so accurate and has had me running in to the house several times. :D I have never seen the bird so I don't know what it is. Any ideas?

If you're in an urban setting, it's most likely a starling. They're notorious mimics. Or could your neighbours have a caged Mynah or parrot?

Thanks Geo - it'll be a starling then. We have a family of three with a very lazy young one that they are still feeding on our lawn.

I had a friend with a yard of lorries. He got quite upset when he heard the warnig noise that lorries make when they reverse. He heard it but did not see it.

turned out to be a jay imitating sound.
