Bird ?

Hi Woo,Your bird is a Fielfare like the photos I took of the one in our village the other day,good photo though

 

No worries Woo,I had to double check in case it was a Redwing as they are very similar. :D :D

 

If I had seen that I would have thought it was a thrush, :D

 

It is a Thrush, of sorts. :D

I know you mean Fieldfare Turdus pilaris Kandy Strongy's right same family as thrushes "turdus" as is the redwing,both winter migrants from scandinavia they go back to breed late march although one or two pairs have been known to stay and breed.

 

Walnut I know that Ring Ouzel,Blackbird,Song Thrush,Mistle Thrush,Redwing and Fieldfare are all members of the Turdidea family but for anyone no into birds it is easy to mistake the different types :D

On another thread I wrote a piece about Hedge Sparrows{Dunnocks} and members on their didn't seem to understand that they don't nest in boxes but in hedges,hence their name :D
