I recently planted out, two rosemary's.

One was brought from Middlewich...so twas dug up, potted and overwintered out side in a tub. Have planted it now in a permanent home and it's growing a treat.

Tother one. Bought locally as in less than a mile down the road. Raised in the same soil I have planted it in. Was very healthy when I bought it...and it has died off??? Other than cat pee (we have four) any thought's as to why it died?

    Seems like a bit of a mystery.

How strange - rosemary is the toughest, fastest growing herb in my garden. I have to beat it back into the ground with a stick. Being sprayed by your cats wouldn't have done the foliage any good but I'd be surprised if it actually killed the whole plant (depends how big it was, I suppose).

Another thought is that the roots might have been water logged in the pot and then planting it out was the last straw?

Nope, but thanks for the input...it was very health and about 8" high. Think I shall get another couple, plant one in the same place and see what happens. Plant the other one in a different bed.:thumb:

I suppose it could be Pam, but I really don't know.

But never in all my years of growing rosemary have I seen one die so quickly?
