As it has been such a nice day today, I thought I would start moving some of the plants around before I start my night shift at work.

4 hours later and 90% of it has been done, most of the Lavender has been moved, along with the foxgloves and a few others I cant remember.

Keeping in mind the Garden is still less than a year old I am hoping that none of the plants were established enough to suffer this summer. What did surprise me is that some of the lavender had really deep roots but not much in the way of actual plant, where as other lavender was big and bushy with a not so deep root system.

I did my best to get a decent sized root ball, but obviously some of the root got left behind.

The beds look nice and neat now, all I really have to do is sort out the corners and everything will be good.

Fingers crossed everything flowers this year after the move, I don't hold much hope for the Fuchias as they were looking sorry for themselves before the move.

If they're hardy ones they'll be fine.
It's the Foxgloves I would worry about. I've never found that mature ones (as opposed to seedlings) like being moved.

It has certainly put me in the mood or spring/summer, before I wasn't too bothered with the wind and rain, now I have had a taste of gardening I cant wait for the nice weather to come.

Although it is hard work I find it relaxing and that it relieves stress very well, :).

I am not sure what the care regime is for Foxgloves and to be honest didn't really look it up. When they finished flowering I cut the stalks off and left them to do hat they wanted. They have had big green leaves ever since (which are currently home to quite a few catapillars). Not sure when or if the stalk for the new flowers will grow. The foxgloves had quite a compact root, and I don't think I damaged any of the roots when digging it up. Time will tell, and if it does die at least I have an excuse to visit the garden center lol.

Did see a couple of ladybirds today as well, which I thought was quite early.

Well, most Foxgloves are biennials or short lived perennials, liking it on the fringes of woods. so normally they will seed and grow the first year and then flower and die the second year after seeding. Once they're in the garden they should stay year after year because they do seed prolifically.:snork:
